We have decided that the club should now have a tangible memory
in the form of a swimmer of the year trophy that will be presented
annually and handed on from one recipient to another.
2006
At the 2006 Kenilworth Masters Christmas dinner the first presentation
of the new trophy was made to Steve Goult. In his first full year
back in competitive swimming he has not only produced results in
the pool but added to overall atmosphere of the club with his personality
and his presence.
In the Midlands open he claimed a couple of individual golds along
with a whole host of other medals for individual and team events.
In the later part of the year he produced a fine swim to claim silver
in 200 Breastroke at the Nationals at Pond Forge (Sheffield)
Keep up the good work!
The decision
Due to time constraints, this years decision as to who was to receive
the award was made by a select, highly knowledgeable panel, comprising
of the Chairman and no one else. Next year I propose to throw the
decision over to all the members who can cast their vote.
